When I read the book of Acts and see how the early Church lived out their faith, I get excited about wanting to do the same thing. However, I think it was a whole lot easier to get by selling all you had and living communally in the first century as it is now. I just recently read a book called The Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical, by Shane Claiborne. It's about this guy who is doing his best to live, love, and serve like Jesus in Philadelphia. I don't agree with everything he does or purports, but he still is doing amazing things, and I highly recommend the book. Anyway, I guess my stuggle is that since it seems impossible to live like the early church in the modern world, I just give up and continue living the modern boring Christian life.
